AILLEURS COMMENCE ICI workshops

AILLEURS COMMENCE ICI workshops led by Elise Tamisier took place in Martigues from 26th to 29th of May 2010, as part of the Odyssée de Martigues. Like in her short film SANS SOMMEIL, the photographer and director suggested to Martigues inhabitants to wander around the city, with their cameras, so as to end up with a photographic and sound depiction of it.

The workshops gave rise to a photo exhibition (which opened on 1st of June at the salle de l’Aigalier in Martigues), and the screening of a short film on the big screen of Jean Renoir cinema on 24th of June. It will be shown again at Renoir cinema in September. Click HERE to view it.

The exhibition can be seen at l’Alinéa bookshop (Martigues) until September 2010, and will then take place at Martigues Médiathèque.

Luxembourg premiere of ALTER EGO

The premiere in Luxembourg of the short film ALTER EGO took place on 16th of July in Esch-sur-Alzette as part of the Gaymat festival with the director and the lead actor Geoffrey Coppini. To read the Luxembourg press articles, click here.

 

May 2010 / ALTER EGO premiere in Marseille

The short film by Jérôme Nunes ALTER EGO premiered on 5th of May 2010, for the opening of Reflets festival which took place in Marseille from 5th to 9th of May 2010, with the director, actors and part of the crew in attendance. The film was a success at Les Variétés cinema, with a packed out auditorium.

Forthcoming screenings:
- On 05.06.2010 programmed in Sons de Plateaux #5 organized by the GRIM and Montévidéo in Marseille.
- On 16.07.2010 in Luxembourg (Esch-sur-Alzette), as part of the Gaymat event.
- The film will also be screened for the U.E.E.H which will take place in Marseille between 17th and 25th of July 2010.

Furthermore, the film will be shown by Jérôme Nunes and la Compagnie d'Avril at the Short Film Corner of 2010 Cannes Film Festival.

DEATH IN THE GARDEN (La Mort en ce Jardin): editing in progress

Jean-Laurent Xynidis and the Belgian editor and sound-designer Frédéric Fichefet have started editing DEATH IN THE GARDEN in Brussels. Filmed in Austria in a Japanese garden and coproduced by Amour Fou (Vienna), the short film shows the last moments of an old man, halfway between dream and reality. The film is to be completed by the summer 2010.

La Compagnie d'Avril is contemplating a joint programme with ALTER EGO, SANS SOMMEIL and DEATH IN THE GARDEN labelled COURTS D'AVRIL (AVRIL'S SHORTS).

"Ailleurs commence ici"

Elise Tamisier is preparing the artistic workshops AILLEURS COMMENCE ICI, as an extension of SANS SOMMEIL. They will take place as part of "L'Odyssée de Martigues 2010". Several photo shoots will be organised for the participants in the city of Martigues. A selection of the outcome will be exhibited and edited in the vein of Elise Tamisier's film.

New project: NEXT STOP

La Compagnie d'Avril supports the writing and development of the forthcoming short film by Jérôme Nunes - NEXT STOP. The project was awarded a scriptwriting grant by the Provence Alps Cote d'Azur Region. It was also selected by the association NISI MASA to take part in the 4th edition of the European Short Pitch, including a rewriting session at the Moulin d'Andé (Centre for Film Writing) in January 2010 and a pitching session at Bucarest NexT Film Festival in April 2010. Finally, NEXT STOP was selected for the 2010 professional meetings between producers and scriptwriters (l'Espace Kiosque) organised by Aubagne International Film Festival.

October 2009

ALTER EGO, the short film by Jérôme Nunes is now completed! After filming it in Marseille and Carro with crewmembers from France and Luxembourg, the last postproduction stages took place in Belgium and Austria, where the Compagnie d'Avril and its coproducers Minotaurus Film (Luxembourg) and Green House (Marseille) found new partners.

ALTER EGO is now ready to be sent to various international festivals - we will get the first replies next winter. Until then, the director will attend the Rencontres Professionnelles (Professional Gathering) organised by the Provence Alps Côte d'Azur Régie Culturelle (film equipment rental facilities).

As part of her project of experimental short film SANS SOMMEIL, Elise Tamisier will lead workshops involving pupils with cinema/audiovisual specification in Jean Lurçat school (Martigues) next autumn based on the links between photography and film. SANS SOMMEIL will be made out of some 2,000 photographs taken during a 24 hour trip throughout the city of Paris.

June 2009

LA MORT EN CE JARDIN - Death in the Garden (director: Jean-Laurent Xynidis) was shot in Austria from 3rd to 6th of June, 2009. Based on an engraving by Jochen Seitz, the film takes place in the Setagaya Park, a Japanese garden of the 19th district of Vienna. Coproduced by Compagnie d'Avril and Amour Fou Filmproduktion, the film is to be edited by the end of the summer.

Picture editing of ALTER EGO, a short film by Jérôme Nunes, is nearly finished. The original soundtrack will be composed by Jean-Marc Montera, a musician from Marseille. The film, a coproduction with Minotaurus Film (Luxembourg) and Green House (Marseille), is to be completed this autumn. ALTER EGO was shot in January 2009 in Martigues and Marseille.

An initial photo shoot/recording session for the experimental short film by Elise Tamisier, SANS SOMMEIL, took place late last winter in Paris. The director from Martigues carries on her conceptual work which will be extended through another photo shoot, before the editing of the film starts, presumably in Austria, this winter.
